Kate Palka qualified as a solicitor in 1990 and has worked in legal services and legal education ever since. She gained a wide experience in employment and commercial issues from her practice in London and through Palka Downton, which was set up in 2001.
She has also worked as Senior Lecturer at Bournemouth University, lecturing in Business law, commercial law and employment law.
Her knowledge of employment law was underpinned by obtaining an LLM in Employment Law and Relations from Leicester University. She has co-written a book on Costs in Employment Tribunals (Jordan Publishing 2010) with Daniel Barnett, barrister as well as an Analysis of the Age Discrimination Regulations.
She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
